About Genadi
Genadi is a village located in the southern part of the island, approximately 60 km from the cosmopolitan town of Rhodes. It is a small settlement with very nice taverns, small hotels, apartments and villas extended in its length. Except from the sun, the sea and the homonymous beach, the visitor can admire the picturesque white-washed houses, the old olive press as well as the delicious Greek cuisine.
You can wonder around the narrow streets and the stairs which they finally lead to the magnificent Byzantine churches of Ioanni Theologos and Agia Anastasia that were built with the structural material from the wreckage of the Knights Tower. There are various local shops with great souvenirs and handmade objects of folklore art. Gennadi only began to be developed relatively recently, and the main coastal road along the beach is lined with hotels and villas belonging to people from Rhodes. If you are looking for some adventure seek for the many unexplored beaches stretching along the sandy shore from Gennadi to Prasonisi - among the last unspoiled stretches of coastline left on Rhodes. You can take short walk in Genadi barrage with its small lakes in the green scenery and in Prasonisi (Green Island) only 15 km away, ideal for those who love to surf.
